Hurst team steps out for Dove House Hospice charity challenge
Thirteen members of the Hurst team have completed an 11-mile pub-to-pub charity walk to raise funds for Dove House Hospice, continuing the company’s long-standing support for the Hull and East Yorkshire charity.
Held on Saturday 6th June, the challenge saw the team walk through the villages of Cottingham and Skidby, taking in the East Riding of Yorkshire countryside along the way.
As part of the route, participants visited five local pubs, combining team spirit, community support and fundraising for a cause that remains close to the hearts of many at Hurst.
Dove House Hospice provides care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as vital support for their families.

The hospice costs around £10 million a year to run, with only around 10% of funding provided by the government. The remaining income is generated through community events, local business support, individual fundraising challenges and donations.
For Hurst, the latest pub-to-pub walk marks another important fundraising effort in a partnership that has continued to grow over the past three years.
“It was a brilliant day and a fantastic way to come together as a team for such an important local charity,” said Olivia Lock, Marketing Executive at Hurst.
“The walk was a real challenge, but there was a great atmosphere from start to finish. Everyone taking part knew that every step was helping to support the incredible work Dove House Hospice does for local people and their families.”
Hurst has supported Dove House Hospice through a wide range of fundraising activities in recent years, including previous pub-to-pub walks, fire and ice challenges, Get Caked events, skydiving, raffles and other team-led initiatives.
Melonie Ellis, QHSE Compliance Manager at Hurst, added: “Dove House Hospice means a great deal to so many people in our community, and we’re proud to keep supporting them in any way we can.
“Events like this are not only a great opportunity to raise money, but also to bring people together and shine a light on the vital care the hospice provides every day.”
The pub-to-pub walk adds to a growing programme of fundraising activity across the Hurst team, with employees continuing to support local causes through challenges, events and community initiatives.
